Draining the cooling system becomes the first step to replace the engine coolant Thermostat (LAT, LE5) (2.4L). Begin by relocating the radiator outlet hose clamp at the Thermostat cover to remove the radiator outlet hose from its position on the Thermostat cover. First remove the Thermostat cover bolts and cover before removing the Thermostat while discarding the Thermostat cover o-ring seal. Before installation you should place the new Thermostat cover o-ring seal first and then mount the Thermostat. Position the Thermostat cover bolts before securing them to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Farmer a radiator outlet hose back to the Thermostat cover after sliding the radiator outlet hose clamp at the Thermostat cover. Finally, fill the cooling system.
