Drain the plug out, then remove the rear axle cover bolts and the axle housing cover, followed by the gasket. The axle housing gasket is a reusable part except in the case of damage. Install the cover gasket for the axle housing and then the axle housing cover. Mount the bolts and tighten to 40 n.m (30 lb ft). Next, tighten the Drain Plug to 33 n.m (24 lb in). Add fluid to the rear axle so that the amount of fluid in the axle is between 0-13mm (0-0.5 inch) below the opening of the fill plug. Check the level: use the proper fluid and if low, add lubricant up to the level with the bottom fill plug opening. Finally, lower the vehicle.
