2008 GMC Acadia Power Steering Reservoir Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the Power Steering Reservoir on 2008 GMC Acadia?
A: The first step to replace remote Power Steering Reservoir requires removal of the fuel injector sight shield. The remote Power Steering Reservoir requires maximum drainage before you place collecting pans beneath the vehicle. To start the upgrade, compress the Power Steering Reservoir inlet hose clamp until you disconnect the hose from the remote Power Steering Reservoir. Then do the same to the Power Steering Reservoir outlet hose by compressing its clamp next to disconnecting the hose. Take out the remote Power Steering Reservoir by removing its bolts. Begin by mounting the remote Power Steering Reservoir and fasten it in place with the remote Power Steering Reservoir bolts while torquing them to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Around the reservoir attach the outlet Power Steering Hose and clamp and then add the inlet Power Steering Hose with its clamp. Wipe off all surplus fluid from the vehicle before taking away drain pans. Power steering system filling must be followed by bleeding then reinstallation of the fuel injector sight shield.
