Recovery of the refrigerant with the Halogen Leak Detector To replace the thermal expansion valve (TXV). Take out the TXV mounting nut, evaporator tube and compressor suction hose. Reject old seal washers and remove TXV bolts and fit new seal washers. Reattach the evaporator tube and compressor suction hose and perform a leak test.
