How to replace the Power Steering Cooler without hydroboost on 2008 GMC Sierra 1500?

The first step for replacing the Power Steering Cooler while maintaining the hydroboost system involves removal of the radiator grille. The power steering fluid reservoir requires its fluid to drain as much as possible before placing drain pans under each vehicle corner. Disconnect the Power Steering Cooler hose from its outlet connection to the power steering gear and also disconnect the power steering gear outlet hose from its entry on the Power Steering Pump. Take the Power Steering Cooler out of the vehicle by first taking off bolts that secure it and then removing the cooler from its position. Install the Power Steering Cooler by placing it into position then fasten its bolts at 9 n.m (80 lb in) torque sequence. Fasten down the Power Steering Cooler hose to the Power Steering Pump followed by attaching the power steering gear outlet hose to the Power Steering Cooler. First clean residual fluid before draining the pans then proceed with filling and bleeding power steering fluid. Finally, reinstall the radiator grille.
