  A: Before swapping the front Brake Disc of a 1500 series vehicle check the brake master cylinder reservoir for fluid level that must sit between medium and low marks. Drain fluid when the level exceeds midpoint. Lift the vehicle up and switch off the wheel to obtain access to the tire assembly. Trace the hub connection points when reinstalling the factory Brake Disc. Push down the brake caliper pistons towards the caliper housing using 2 large c-clamps (J 41013) and tighten them fully to retract the pistons. Remove protective coating from Brake Disc friction surfaces by cleaning the surfaces with denatured alcohol or a similar brake cleaner. To prepare wheel parts for installation the reinstall kit tools j 42450-a and j 41013 should be used to remove all rust and debris from the hub flange and Brake Disc center. Set the disc in its correct position and fix it to the hub using the Brake Disc screw at 106 pound inches torque setting. Check how well the disc performs as part of its brake system repair by measuring the assembled lateral runout. Before placing the parts together apply the specified gm threadlocker (part number 12345493) and then tighten the bolts to 200 n.m using precise hand movement. Put the tire and wheel back on and let the vehicle down. Press the brake pedal slowly to 2/3 of its journey without starting the engine. Continue the procedure until you have a steady pedal position and add fresh brake fluid to the reservoir when required.
