- Q: How to Replace the Cam Gear on the Left Side Intake Camshaft Position Actuator on 2009 Buick Enclave?A: Follow this procedure to upgrade the left intake Camshaft position actuator: remove the left exhaust Camshaft actuator first, then frame the intake Camshaft position actuator bolt and its part. Check if the actuator matches the intake (IN sign on the body) before installing it correctly. You need to place the actuator properly because engine mistakes can happen and an engine fault code will be created. Position the edge of the right reluctor wheel to align with peak of the sprocket tooth on the left intake Camshaft position actuator as these components do not match. Put the outer circle mark of the Camshaft position actuator at its ring position to match the identified timing chain link which is on the left side of the engine. When you tighten the bolt on the Camshaft hex shape apply an open end wrench to stop the Camshaft from turning. To prevent Camshaft movement place the intake Camshaft position control onto the Camshaft then hand-tighten the bolt but use an open-end wrench on the hex shaft to hold the Camshaft still. Secure the bolt of the Camshaft position actuator before reinstalling the left exhaust Camshaft actuator.
