2009 Buick Lucerne Fuel Rail Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly on 2009 Buick Lucerne?
A: Before replacing the fuel injection Fuel Rail assembly it is important to note the 8-digit identification number stamped onto the rail because it could be needed for part replacement or servicing. The correct placement of Fuel Injector o-rings reduces both fuel leak dangers and personal injury from fires; rule is to position black o-ring above the brown o-ring. Use caps and plugging equipment to protect the fuel system from dirt entry through the holes. Detach both the Fuel Rail's feed pipe and disconnect any other electrical attachments running to the system. Start by separating the Fuel Injector harness connector bracket bolt from the Intake Manifold before quitting the cmp sensor and ect sensor electrical connectors along with the upper Intake Manifold. Start by removing the Fuel Rail bolts and separate the Fuel Rail and subsequently extract the o-ring from the spray tip end of each injector while disposing damaged o-rings. The procedure to remove fuel injectors should be performed carefully to protect the connector pins and nozzles while the injectors should never be soaked in cleaning solutions. To continue the process one must take away the Fuel Injector retaining clip and the Fuel Injector from the Fuel Rail aside the upper o-ring. The correct part number for replacement fuel injectors should be selected before installation where upper o-rings must be lubricated with engine oil and placed onto the Fuel Rail with the retaining clip in position when necessary. When working with fuel system components users should plug the ports of the Fuel Rail before servicing and they should never clean parts with compressed air or immersion in solvent baths. You must replace all broken lower injector o-rings after lubrication before you install the Fuel Rail assembly in the Intake Manifold with a slight tilt to place the injectors. Fasten the Fuel Rail bolts to 10 nm (89 lb in) torque specification while reconnecting cmp sensor and ect sensor electrical connectors to the Intake Manifold. Position the Fuel Injector harness connector bracket and install its bracket bolt and securely tighten to 8 nm (71 lb in). Reinstall the upper Intake Manifold as you reconnect all remaining electrical connections before installing the fuel feed pipe to join with the Fuel Rail. End the procedure by reconnecting the negative Battery Cable before completing a fuel leak inspection using sequential ignition turning.
