Take off the main timing chain, crankshaft sprocket, and camshaft midpoint sprocket as a single unit. Cleaning and inspection of the camshaft timing drive components. For installation, bring the timing marks of the camshaft intermediate and crankshaft sprockets vertically. Mount the timing chain for the main camshaft to the drive sprockets in such a way the 1st piston is going to be at the top dead-center while the crankshaft keyway is at the 1 o'clock position. Align the crankshaft key to the drive sprocket using the j 39946, then assemble the primary timing chain, crankshaft sprocket, and the camshaft intermediate sprocket.
