  A: The replacement process begins with fuel pressure relief using either the fuel pressure relief with ch 48027 or without ch 48027. Wash the Fuel Rail assembly through spraying gm x-30a engine cleaner or its equivalent while avoiding deep liquid soaking. The technician must disconnect both the fuel feed pipe quick connect fitting that connects to the Fuel Rail and the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) air tube quick connect fitting that exits from the camshaft cover. The surge tank inlet pipe hose must be unhooked from both Fuel Rail studs and engine fitting and surge tank inlet pipe nuts removed before extracting the inlet pipe from Fuel Rail studs. Let the engine harness electrical connectors slip from the starter solenoid cable while removing connectors from both front and rear fuel injectors. Next detach the engine harness clip from the Fuel Rail stud then place the harness set aside. The procedure begins by eliminating the Fuel Rail retainer nut bracket and Fuel Rail studs before extracting the Fuel Rail where you need to discard the o-ring seals which lived at the spray tip end of each Fuel Injector. The installation starts with deploying fuel injectors and new o-ring seals to their spray tip ends before lubricating new lower seals with clean engine oil. After this, install the Fuel Rail. Begin by tightening the Fuel Rail studs to 10 nm (89 lb in) while the Fuel Rail bracket retainer nut receives identical torque of 10 nm (89 lb in). The engine harness should go over the engine where you should install the engine harness clip to the Fuel Rail stud before connecting electrical connectors from the engine harness to both rear and front fuel injectors and the starter solenoid cable. Fasten the surge tank inlet pipe through the Fuel Rail studs then mark the inlet pipe nuts before connecting the hose to both engine fitting and surge tank while placing hose clamps in proper locations. The quick connect fitting for pcv air should be attached to the camshaft cover alongside the quick connect fitting for fuel feed to the Fuel Rail.
