The lever on the battery clamp needs to be rotated for detachment followed by removal of the battery positive cable from the battery. Begin by removing the electrical center cover through its tabs. After that disconnect the battery positive cable from its electrical center nut. During the procedure raise and support the vehicle and move the protective boot from the generator output bat terminal to gain access. Disassemble the generator output bat terminal nut then disconnect its positive battery lead from the generator assembly. First detach the Starter terminal nut before taking the battery positive cable from both the Starter and Starter. Finally remove the cable from the engine. The procedure for installation starts by putting the battery positive cable in contact with the engine and afterward attaching it to the Starter before tightening the Starter terminal nut at 13 nm (115 lb in). Connect the positive lead of the battery to the generator before installing its bat terminal nut and torquing it to 13 nm (115 lb in). Put on the protective boot to the generator output bat terminal then drop the vehicle before installing the nut that connects the battery positive cable to the underhood fuse block with a torque of 15 nm (11 lb ft). Proceed by installing the electrical center cover then joining the battery positive cable to the battery followed by widgeting the battery clamp lever and reunifying the battery negative cable.
