2009 Cadillac SRX Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the coolant reservoir on a left-hand drive on 2009 Cadillac SRX?
A: The first step to replace a left-hand drive vehicle's Coolant Reservoir includes draining off all coolant. Unplug the master cylinder fluid level sensor's electrical connector then put it out of the way. Secure the Coolant Reservoir outlet hose by loosening the hose clamp with j 38185 (Hose Clamp Pliers) then move the clamp into position for reinstallation and disconnect the Coolant Reservoir outlet hose. The j 38185 should be used to both release and relocate the Coolant Reservoir inlet hose clamp before disconnecting the hose. The low coolant sensor electrical connector becomes separated after removing the Coolant Reservoir bolt and nut. You need to detach the low coolant sensor electrical connector before extracting the Coolant Reservoir. Put the Coolant Reservoir into place and attach the low coolant sensor electrical connector before proceeding with installation. Fasten the Coolant Reservoir nut to 9 nm (80 lb in) torque before tightening the Coolant Reservoir bolt at the same torque. Before attaching the Coolant Reservoir inlet hose use j 38185 to apply clean coolant inside the hose before finishing the connection. Follow the installation procedure to connect the Coolant Reservoir outlet hose then fasten it with the j 38185. Reinstall the master cylinder fluid level sensor electrical connector before finishing the cooling system filling procedure.
