How to replace the engine coolant thermostat (LY7) (3.6L) on 2009 Cadillac SRX?

To replace the engine coolant Thermostat (LY7) (3.6L), remove the room from the cooling system using the cooling system draining and filling (GE 47716) procedure. Avoid separating the upper and lower intake manifolds. Next, tear the upper Intake Manifold away together with the lower Intake Manifold. Unplug the surge tank hose from the Thermostat, and remove the coolant pipe/Thermostat housing bolt and the coolant pipe upper bolt. Disconnect the coolant inlet pipe from the Thermostat, followed by removal of Thermostat bolts and Thermostat itself, and throwing away the Thermostat seal. For finalizing, fix the new Thermostat or new Thermostat seal by tightening the Thermostat bolts to 10 nm (89 lb in). Install back the coolant pipe with a new seal and fasteners (2 and 7), and reattach the surge tank hose to the Thermostat. Lastly, fasten the upper Intake Manifold to the lower Intake Manifold and fill the cooling system as per the procedure for cooling system draining and filling (GE 47716).
