Begin by removing all bolts from the Thermostat and Thermostat Housing and then extract the housing and heater pipes and hoses. Clean all sealing areas with a plastic scraper instrument (J 28410) or any equivalent tool. Begin by attaching heater pipes and hoses to the Thermostat Housing then add a new gasket before screwing in the Thermostat Housing bolts just enough to keep the gasket in place. Install the Thermostat Housing after adding heater pipes and gasket followed by hoses and bolts with initial bolt torque at 20 nm (15 lb ft). Position the Thermostat before linking up the heater core to the heater hoses.
