• Q: How to replace the Air Bag Sensor in the Front End on 2009 Cadillac STS?

  A: In order to replace the inflatable restraint front end sensor, disable the sir system first. Pull out the Radiator sight shield and loosen the Radiator to get access to the sensor. Eliminate the connector position assurance (CPA) of the wiring harness connector to the inflatable restraint front end sensor, which involves the breaking off of the wiring harness connector from the front end sensor, and pay attention to the fact that the front end sensor mounting fastener has left-handed threads. Loose the front end sensor fastening mounting fastener which is in the upper tie bar and take off the fastening front end sensor from the upper tie bar. For installation, first clean any dirt, grease or any impurities on the mounting surface and then align the sensor horizontally with the arrow facing forward of the vehicle. Feats the mounting fasteners in place and tighten to 9 nm (80 lb in), joins the harness wiring connector to the front end sensor and feats the cpa to the wiring harness connector. Reposition the Radiator, install the Radiator sight shield, and activate sir system.
