• Q: How to replace the Air Bag Sensor in the Front End on 2008 Cadillac STS?

  A: First one needs to disable the sir system to replace the inflatable restraint front end sensor. Take away sight shield off from the Radiator and get free the Radiator to access the sensor. Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) from the wiring harness connector to a set of mounting bosses on the inflatable restraint front end sensor, and remove the wire harness connector from the front end sensor and observe that the front end sensor mounting fastener has left handed threads. Loosen the front end sensor mounting fastener at the upper tie bar and remove the front end sensor from the upper tie bar. For installation, clean the mounting surface of the dust, grease, and impurities and place the sensor horizontally with an arrow pointing forward the vehicle. Mount the mounting with the fasteners which should be tightened to 9 n.m (80 lb in). On the front end sensor, connect the harness wiring connector, and install the cpa to the hernandez connector. Wire in the Radiator, install Radiator sight shield, and activate the sir system.
