  A: Begin Catalytic Converter replacement on a 1.4l ldt/1.6l lxv starting with the negative Battery Cable disconnection. Begin by disconnecting the front heated oxygen sensor connector followed by oil level gage tube removal then exhaust manifold heat shield detachment. First secure the exhaust front pipe mounting bracket bolt and lower flange nuts then unfasten the upper flange nuts before removing the Catalytic Converter and gasket. During installation place the Catalytic Converter with gasket on the exhaust manifold flange securing it with one upper flange nut before tightening the exhaust front pipe to Catalytic Converter nuts to 40 nm (30 lb ft) while rotating the exhaust front pipe mounting bracket bolt to 40 nm (30 lb ft). Secure the exhaust manifold heat shield at 8 nm (5.9 lb ft) while installing upper flange nuts of Catalytic Converter into exhaust manifold nuts at 40 nm (30 lb ft). First check oil level before refilling while removing the oil level gage tube and reinstall it followed by connecting the front heated oxygen sensor connector and reconnecting the battery negative cable.
