You must first remove the upper flange nut from the catalytic converter then remove the connecting pipe mounting bracket bolt and conclude by taking off the lower flange nuts of the catalytic converter. Cut out the catalytic converter piece together with its related gasket. Secure the exhaust manifold flange by fixing the catalytic converter with one upper flange nut and gasket in position. Install the catalytic converter lower flange nuts and the connecting pipe mounting bracket. Tighten the connecting pipe to catalytic converter nuts to 40 N.m (30 lb ft) while securing the connecting pipe mounting bracket bolt to 40 N.m (30 lb ft). Use the upper catalytic converter flange nuts for installation and tighten them against the exhaust manifold nuts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft). Reinstall the exhaust manifold cover bolts and apply 15 N.m (11 lb ft) of torque to them.
