  Q: How to replace the catalytic converter on a 1.4L LDT/1.6L LXV on Chevrolet Aveo?

  A: If you want to replace the Catalytic Converter on a 1.4l ldt/1.6l lxv, then you should detach the battery negative cable. Subsequently, unhook the front heated oxygen sensor connector, remove the oil level gauge tube, and remove the exhaust manifold heat shield. Then, unscrew the Catalytic Converter upper flange nuts, the exhaust front pipe mounting bracket bolt and the Catalytic Converter lower flange nuts, before you can take out the catalytic and the gasket. For installation situation the Catalytic Converter and gasket onto the exhaust manifold flange with one upper flange nut and install the lower flange nuts and exhaust front pipe mounting bracket, tighten the exhaust front pipe to Catalytic Converter nuts to 40 nm (30 lb ft) and the exhaust front pipe mounting bracket bolt to 40 nm (30 lb ft). Mount the Catalytic Converter upper flange nuts to the exhaust manifold nuts and also to 40 nm (30 lb ft) and the exhaust manifold heat shield to 8 nm (5.9 lb-ft). Check on the oil level, refilling if it's needed after removing the oil level gauge tube, then reinstall the oil level gauge tube, reconnect the front heated oxygen sensor connector and then reconnect the battery negative cable.
