How to replace the Turn Signal Switch on 2009 Chevrolet Aveo?

Start the turn signal multifunction switch replacement process by detaching the battery negative terminal. Unscrew screws numbers 6, 7, and 8 from the bottom steering column cover board. When steering wheel turned access and remove screws numbers 3 and 4 from the top steering column cover panel. Remove both steering column caps called upper and lower. Pull the two housing tab (2, 3) on either side of the switch to separate it then disconnect electrical wires (1, 4) from the turn signal assembly. Secure the electrical cables (1, 4) under the new Turn Signal Switch before fitting it within the switch housing. Install both sets of steering column covers and secure the lower panel bolts to 3 nm torque setting using torx drivers (6, 7 & 8). After turning the steering wheel you can place and tighten the upper steering column cover panel screws at points 3 and 4 with 3 nm (27 lb in) torque. Complete this task by attaching the negative battery terminal.
