Start by disconnecting the negative battery terminal to replace the multifunction switch. By unscrewing 6-8 lower steering column panel screws, you can rotate the wheel to reach screws 3-4 of the upper steering column cover panel before removing them. Pull out both the upper and lower steering column cover panel pieces. Press the tabs (2, 3) on both sides of the switch housing to pull out its Turn Signal Switch while detaching the electrical connectors (1, 4) from the switch. Plug the electrical connectors (1, 4) into the Turn Signal Switch and put it inside the switch housing assembly. Put back the upper steering column cover panel along with the lower steering column cover panel . Secure the lower steering column cover panel parts (6, 7, 8) using torque settings of 3 nm (27 lb in). Use the steering wheel to locate the upper steering column cover panel screw positions and install all screws (3 and 4) before tightening each one to 3 nm (27 lb in). Rejoin the battery negative cable at the end.
