To perform the process of replacing park/neutral position switch, you first disconnect the negative
Battery Cable and park/neutral position (PNP) switch electrical connector from the wiring harness. Unscrew e-ring and disconnect the shift control cable from the pnp switch lever. Then, remove the retaining nut, washer, then control lever, then unstake the lock washer, and remove the nut with a driver. In installation, push the pnp switch on the manual valve lever shaft and insert the 2 adjusting bolts for temporary use. Replace a new lock washer and nuts and tighten to 12 nm(106lb in). Temporarily install the control lever, turn it in a counterclockwise direction until it comes to a resting place, then clockwise direction until it shifts 2 notches just before removing. Align the groove with neutral basic line, screw the bolts, and tighten unto 5 nm (44 lb in). Instead, the nut should be staked with lock washer and the helper elements, such as control lever, washer, and nut, are to be installed and tightened to 12 nm (106 lb in). Join the control cable to the pnp switch and to the pnp switch electrical connector. Adjust the control cable and install control cable adjusting nut tighteding it up to the 8 nm (71 lb in). Lastly, connect the negative Battery Cable.
