How to replace the rear Trunk Lid Lift Support on 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt?

In order to change the rear compartment lid strut, open and prop the lid. Take a small tool to unscrew the clips that are fastening the assist rod to the ball studs. Take out the assist rod then attach the new one by pushing it to both the ball studs. Make sure to insert clips until the lid closes.
