  • Q: How to replace the windshield wiper motor on 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt?
A: The first step in changing the windshield wiper motor is to remove the air inlet grille panel, and the windshield wiper transmission. Now unfasten the wiper crank arm nut and the wiper crank arm from the wiper motor, then remove the wiper motor screws to remove the wiper motor from the wiper transmission assembly. For installation, the wiper motor should be mounted to the transmisson assembly of wiper, and wiper motor screws should also be installed with a torque of 8 Nm (71 lb in). The new wiper motor is pre-timed in the park position; its does not require energization before installation. If powered up, power the wiper motor back to PARK before continuing. Mount the wiper motor crank arm at 3:00, then install the crank arm and crank arm nut, and tighten it down to 19.5 Nm (14 lb ft). Finally, replace the windshield wiper transmission and the air inlet grille panel.
