    A: You need to park the wiper arms at the 1/2 wipe position before turning off the ignition to remove the windshield wiper motor. Turn off the ignition and put the wiper arms into the 1/2 wipe position before removing the air inlet grille elements. After disconnecting power start by taking off the wiper transmission. Insert the J 39232 (Wiper Linkage Separator) between the transmission link and wiper motor crank arm ball stud to separate them. Next, unsnap the wiper motor from its frame assembly fasteners and pull out the wiper motor. The wiper motor goes on the wiper transmission frame first. Install bolts according to their setup order to fasten the motor. Secure the wiper motor with 9 Nm (81 lb in) of torque. The socket needs to get covered with Multi-Purpose Lubricant or Superlube stainless steel grease (GM P/N 12346241 and Canadian P/N 10953474). Use the J 39529 wiper linkage installer to assemble the transmission drive link socket on the wiper motor crank arm ball before fitting the wiper transmission to the plenum.
