- Q: How to replace the instrument panel Fuse Box on 2009 Chevrolet Equinox?A: Before starting junction block or instrument panel electrical center replacement you should write down radio presets and switch off ignition power. First remove the screws securing the batteries inside the cooling box then detach the battery cover. Apply negation to disconnect the negative battery terminal and proceed by disconnecting the positive terminal (Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection). Wipe off the console interface from its base (Console Replacement) next. Using the proper tool detach the passenger compartment connector and the i/p connector and the body connector before accessing the rear of the i/p fuse block. Start by unfastening the bolt securing the fuse block and afterward remove the ground wire before dismantling the block. The application of the ground wire and bolt requires tightening to 10 nm (89 lb in) torque specification. Tighten the harness connectors at the back of the i/p fuse block to 4 nm (35 lb in). The console installation process must be carried out first followed by attaching the positive Battery Cable then tightening the bolt to 17 nm (13 lb ft) before finishing with the negative Battery Cable and its bolt tightened to 17 nm (13 lb ft).
