How to replace the exhaust Camshaft Position Sensor on 2009 Chevrolet Malibu?

You must detach the air cleaner outlet duct before starting the replacement process of the exhaust camshaft position sensor. Separate the CMP sensor electrical connector from the engine wiring harness before removing the sensor bolt that anchors the CMP sensor. First remove the air cleaner outlet duct before extracting the CMP sensor. Check the CMP sensor for any damage then replace it before installation if required. Apply clean engine oil to the CMP sensor O-ring seal before installing it into position. Mount the CMP sensor with its bolt and use torque to 10 Nm (89 lb in). The engine wiring harness electrical connector must be connected to the exhaust CMP sensor before reinstalling the air cleaner outlet duct.
