The first step to replace the exhaust CMP sensor requires removal of the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the sensor. After disconnecting the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the exhaust CMP sensor you should remove the sensor bolt then take out the CMP sensor. A pre-installation review of the CMP sensor should be performed to detect any damage. You should replace the sensor if it is damaged. Clean engine oil must be applied to the CMP sensor O-ring seal before installing the sensor. Fulfill the installation requirements by tightening the CMP sensor bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in). Terminate the engine wiring harness electrical connector connection with the exhaust CMP sensor before finalizing the repair series.
