How to replace the Turn Signal Switch on 2009 GMC Envoy?

The SIR system needs to be disabled before you replace the Turn Signal Switch. Tilt the steering wheel to the CENTER position and remove both trim covers above and below it. Unplug the signal and switch connectors then take out its 2 pan head screws to remove the assembly. Fit the electrical contact of the new assembly onto its designated location on the turn signal cancel cam assembly. Fasten the assembly with two screws by twisting the side screw to 7 Nm (62 lb in) and the top screw to 3 Nm (27 lb in). Reattach the connectors and put back the top and bottom trim pieces then activate the SIR system.
