To replace the crankshaft rear oil seal, first remove the automatic transmission flex plate. Take out the old seal and ensure the flywheel spacer is removed. Use a new reverse lip type seal marked THIS SIDE OUT. Lubricate the seal and housing, then install using the J 41479 tool. Finally, reinstall the flex plate.
