How to replace the fuel level sensor in a 15/25 Reg/Ext/Crew Cab with a 34 gal Tank on 2009 GMC Sierra 1500?

The first step to replace a Fuel Level Sensor in a 15/25 reg/ext/crew cab with a 34 gal tank starts with removing the fuel tank module. Unplug the Fuel Level Sensor wiring pigtail electrical connector attached to the module cover before removing the wiring pigtail from its position underneath the clip. The retainers on the Fuel Level Sensor need to be pushed gently to free them from the module reservoir before sliding the sensor up for removal from its slot. The new Fuel Level Sensor should be placed over the slot in the reservoir before sliding it downward for installation until its retainers properly engage the module reservoir. Safely insert the wiring pigtail below the module clip after its route behind the fuel pump wires. Then connect the electrical connector to the module cover. The installation procedure ends with the reinstallation of the fuel tank module.
