2010 Buick LaCrosse Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the engine front timing cover on 2010 Buick LaCrosse?
A: In order to replace the engine front cover, take out the Intake Manifold and camshaft covers afterwards. Drain the engine coolant and remove the water outlet with the Radiator Hose, repositioning it away. Next, the generator should be removed (not disconnecting the power steering pipes or draining mode), and the power steering fluid reservoir should be extracted for access to it. Remove the crankshaft balancer and the camshaft position sensors as well as the belt tensioner. Detach no.2, no.3 from the front cover and remove the engine front cover with the Water Pump. Remove and carefully clean the sealing surfaces on the engine front cover. Make sure to put the cardboard between the Oil Pan front and the Oil Pump so the contaminants do not fall in and then get dried out using compressed air to eliminate any engine coolant at the cool passages and the top of the Oil Pan scraper. Assemble the engine front cover using the en-46109 (Engine Front Cover Installation Guide Pins) to install. Change the camshaft position actuator solenoid valves and the camshaft position sensors. Mount the crank shaft balancer, the Power Steering Pump and its pulley followed by the power steering fluid reservoir which is placed onto the front of the engine block. Reroute the generator bracket with the generator itself and the belt tensioner, and install the water outlet as well as the purge vent hose. Replace the camshaft covers and also the Intake Manifold after filling the cooling system. Finally, install the drive belt tensioner and refills the cooling system.
