To replace the front cover of the engine, first eliminate the drive belt tensioner and the crankshaft balancer. Next disconnect the bolts and the engine front cover to water pump bolt. Replace the engine front cover gasket with suitable fitting tool and remove the crankshaft front cover oil seal and discard friction washer. To install, begin by installing a new crankshaft front oil seal and a new friction washer. Place and install a new engine front cover gasket onto the dowel pins, then place and install the engine front cover. Mount the front cover of the engine to the bolt of the pump and use torque of 25 nm (18 lbft) to clamp the nut, followed by mounting of the front cover of the engine where it should be fixed with the use of 25 (18 lbft). Finally, replace the crankshaft balancer and the drive belt tensioner.

Start by taking off the crankcase balancer followed by drive belt tensioner then the engine front cover to water pump bolt together with the remaining engine front cover bolts before you remove the engine front cover. Replacing a faulty engine front cover gasket requires you to remove both the front Engine Mount and the defective gasket. The installation sequence begins with a replacement of the front Engine Mount and an engine front cover gasket which should be done before putting on the engine front cover. Install the engine front cover bolts and tighten them to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.)next apply 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs. Of torque on the water pump bolt. Next, install the drive belt tensioner and its bolt, tightening it to 45 Nm (33 ft. Lbs.)the last step involves reinstalling the crankcase balancer.

Starting the front cover engine replacement process requires removal of the crankshaft balancer and engine mount bracket and drive belt tensioner bolt and tensioner. The engine front cover bolts need removal followed by removing the engine front cover to water pump bolt and discarding the engine front cover gasket. Following a new engine front cover gasket should be placed to the dowel pins before placing the engine front cover. Begin installation of the engine front cover to water pump bolt with a torque of 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.) and proceed to bolt the engine front cover, maintaining the same specification torque. First install the drive belt tensioner together with its bolt then tighten it to 45 nm (33 ft. Lbs.) before moving on to the engine mount bracket and the crankshaft balancer.

After removing the drive belt tensioner (LAT) and (LE5), remove the crankshaft balancer (LAT) and (LE5). This would allow the removal of the engine front cover. Then, you should install the engine support fixture and delete the Engine Mount and bracket. After that, keep raising the vehicle, support its weight, and remove the engine front cover bolts, then take them away from the engine front cover. If the front cover of the engine gets removed, discard the old front cover gasket, and apply a new gasket to the dowel pins before replacing the front cover. Tighten the engine front cover bolts to 25 nm (18 lb ft), lower the vehicle and install and tighten the engine front cover water pump bolt to 25 nm (18 lb ft). Mount the Engine Mount and bracket, pull out the engine support fixture, and reinstall finally the crankshaft balancer (LAT) and (LE5), then placing the drive belt tensioner (LAT) and (LE5).

To replace the engine front cover, the drive-belt tensioner must be removed first and then the crankshaft balancer; later, the engine support fixture must be installed. Then, unbolt the Engine Mount and bracket, then the engine front cover to water pump bolt. Lift and support the vehicle and remove the engine front cover bolts and remove the engine front cover. Remove the old engine front cover gasket and make sure a new gasket is put in place over the dowel pins before you put the engine front cover back on. While working on the car engine compartment repair the engine front bolts placing the head covers, install the engine front cover bolts, tighten followed by a further process of lower vehicle. Replace the engine front cover to the water pump bolt and also tighten it to 25 nm (18 lb ft). To end the job, strategically position the Engine Mount and bracket, extract engine support fixture, and install the crankshaft balancer and the drive belt tensioner.

Install the drive belt tensioner and fill the cooling system again.

If the engine front cover gasket is damaged, remove it.

Remove the oil pan, crankshaft pulley and hub, and the engine front cover bolts.

First, remove the crankshaft balancer, engine mount bracket, drive belt tensioner bolt, and drive belt tensioner.

If the engine front cover gasket is damaged, also remove the front engine mount and the damaged gasket.

Install the water pump bolt and tighten it to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).

Tighten the long water pump bolt to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).

Tighten the engine front cover bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft) and lower the vehicle.

Reinstall the windshield washer solvent reservoir, air cleaner assembly, crankshaft balancer, and finally the drive belt tensioner.

Take off the engine front cover.

Remove the drive belt tensioner, crankshaft balancer, air cleaner assembly, and windshield washer solvent reservoir.

Disconnect the negative battery cable and drain the cooling system.

Finally, reinstall the crankcase balancer.

If the engine front cover gasket is damaged, also remove the front engine mount and the damaged gasket.
