2010 Cadillac DTS Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the engine flywheel on 2010 Cadillac DTS?
A: A professional must take out the transaxle before starting replacement of the engine Flywheel. The j 44214 (Flywheel Holder) must be installed onto the engine block before you loosen the Flywheel bolts. Keep only one Flywheel bolt in position at the top of the Crankshaft while removing all the others. Lead with one hand to remove the engine Flywheel's last bolt without letting the Flywheel drop. The inspection and cleaning process for the engine Flywheel should take place now. Sealant should be applied to the Flywheel bolts before you place and align the engine Flywheel with the Crankshaft while following all fastener safety measures. Use the j 45059 (Angle Meter) to perform two steps in tightening the Flywheel bolts: first tighten them to 30 nm (22 lb ft) then make a final turn by adding another 50 degrees to the torque. The j 44214 tool should be detached from the engine block before reattaching the transaxle.
