Q: How to replace the intake manifold on 2010 Cadillac DTS?
A: For a replacement of the Intake Manifold, begin by removing the Fuel Injector sight shield cover, followed by the air cleaner outlet duct. Remove the front ignition coil module engine harness electrical connector, the front fuel injectors engine harness electrical connectors, the rear ignition coil module engine harness electrical connector, and the rear fuel injectors engine harness electrical connectors. Next, disconnect the right camshaft cover's positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) foul air tube quick connect fitting and the pcv fresh air tube quick connect fitting from the camshaft cover. Disconnect the fuel feed line quick connect fitting at the Fuel Rail, transfer the radiator surge tank inlet hose/pipe clamp to the surge tank, and remove surge tank inlet hose to the tank and engine fitting. Unfasten the 2 pushnuts securing the surge tank inlet hose/pipe to the Fuel Rail studs, the nut on the Fuel Rail bracket at the rear left lift bracket, the Fuel Rail studs, and the Fuel Rail. Loosen the plenum duct clamp screw at the water pump housing, remove inta ke manifold bolts, and remove the Intake Manifold by placing the power steering aside. Remove the pcv foul air tube quick connect fitting from the Intake Manifold and remove pcv foul air tube from its retaining features on the Intake Manifold. Discard the old seals, clean and examine the Intake Manifold, and install the new Intake Manifold seals and connect the pcv foul air tube quick connect fitting to the Intake Manifold. Mount the pcv foul air tube to the retaining features around Intake Manifold, while lubricating the inside lip of the rubber plenum duct on the water pump housing, as well as mounting the Intake Manifold. Install the Intake Manifold bolts to gap, followed by a torque of 10 nm (89 lb in) in the sequence specified, and make sure that the Intake Manifold is fully laterally mounted on the plenum duct of the water pump housing. Replace the power steering pump, and tighten a plenum duct clamp screw at the water pump housing to 2.75 nm (24 lb.in), lubricate the Fuel Injector lower o-ring seals with clean oil, and install the Fuel Rail. Mount the Fuel Rail studs and tighten with a torque of 10 nm (89 lb in), then tighten the Fuel Rail bracket nut at the rear left lift bracket with a torque of 10 nm (89 lb in). If fitted, screw in the coolant heater cord tabs to the Fuel Rail studs, and then screw it into the engine harness retainer to the Fuel Rail studs. Reattach the surge tank inlet hose/pipe to the Fuel Rail studs and secure with the 2 pushnuts and attach the surge tank inlet hose/pipe to the engine fitting and position the radiator surge tank inlet hose/pipe to the engine. Then finally attach the surge tank inlet hose/pipe to the surge tank attach the radiator surge tank inlet hose/pipe clamp in the surge tank attach the fuel feed line quick connect fitting at the Fuel Rail attach the pcv fresh air tube quick connect fitting to the camshaft cover and at last attach the pcv foul air tube quick connect fitting to the right camshaft cover. You will reconnect the rear fuel injectors engine harness electric connectors and the rear ignition coil module engine harness electrical connector as well as the front fuel injectors engine harness electrical connectors and the front ignition coil module engine harness electrical connector. Lastly, install the air cleaner outlet duct and the Fuel Injector cover sight shield.
