2010 Cadillac SRX Oil Pan Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the oil pan on 2010 Cadillac SRX?
A: Start the Oil Pan replacement process by elevating the vehicle. First empty the engine oil and then remove the Oil Filter. Start by taking off the Catalytic Converter before dismantling the A/C Compressor bolts so you can move it out of the way. Begin by removing the front cover after you detach the Oil Pan to transmission bolts and the Oil Pan bolts to access the Oil Pan. Clean the surface area of the engine block gasket and the Oil Pan. When installing the Oil Pan position the 8 mm (0.315 in) guides from (EN-46109) between the engine block's center rail bolt holes while applying a 3 mm (0.118 in) bead of rtv sealant to both the block pan rail and the crankshaft rear oil seal housing and then set the pan onto its place. Install the Oil Pan bolts using a loose and sequential order to ensure the correct torque settings for both 8 mm (1-11) and 6 mm (12, 13) bolts: install the 8 mm bolts (1-11) with a torque of 23 nm (17 lb ft) and install the 6 mm bolts (12, 13) with a torque of 10 nm (89 lb in). The procedure requires reinstallation of the engine front cover with the A/C Compressor and Catalytic Converter. Lower the vehicle while you properly refill the engine oil.
