• Q: How to replace the oil pan on 2009 Cadillac SRX?

  A: In order to replace the Oil Pan, first remove the engine front cover, subsequently remove the power steering hose retainer from A/C Compressor bracket and the intermediate Steering Shaft. Next, unbolt the lower nuts of the Engine Mount (not to disconnect the A/C pipes or hoses). Remove the A/C Compressor bracket bolts and lay it aside, then drain the engine oil. Remove the transmission oil cooler pipe retainer on the right of the engine and install the engine support fixture with its wing nuts to make room for the Oil Pan. If you have gone to the extent of preparatory works such as decision to remove curb weight/dimensions, you'll remove the front differential carrier ahead of removing the Oil Pan. Clean and inspect the Oil Pan according to needed. For installation of the Oil Pan, the car will need to be put together with Oil Pan and then install it back there is a requirement of front differential carrier installation. Detents were made to loosen the engine support fixture wing nuts to lower the engine and attach the engine mounts to the frame and also removes the engine support fixture and the transmission oil cooler pipe re-maker. Fill the engine with new engine oil and the A/C Compressor bracket with A/C Compressor. Finally re-install the engine front cover, the Engine Mount lower nuts, as well as reconnect the intermediate Steering Shaft and re-attach the power steering hose retainer to the A/C Compressor bracket.
