2010 Cadillac SRX Timing Cover Parts and Q&A
Q: How to replace the engine front timing cover on 2010 Cadillac SRX?
A: To change the engine front cover first remove the Intake Manifold, camshaft covers and dump off the engine coolant. Next, unplug the water outlet with the Radiator Hose, take off the generator by not stopping the power steering pipes from the power steering pipes, and place the power steering fluid reservoir aside for access. After that, remove the crankshaft balancer, camshaft position sensors, belt tensioner, camshaft position actuator solenoid valves from the front cover. Then, remove the engine front cover with the Water Pump and dismantle it, not allowing sharp or metal gasket scrapers to clean the sealing surfaces. Clean the sealing areas for engine front cover carefully and consume compressed air to blow the engine coolant away from the cooling paths and oil pan scraper. Assemble the engine front cover and hold with pin en-46109. Replace the camshaft position actuator solenoid valves and camshaft position sensors, crankshaft balancer, power steering pump, and its pulley. Etc. Then, install the power steering fluid reservoir, generator bracket with generator and belt tensioner, water outlet, and purge vent hose to water outlet. Fill the cooling system, installen the camshaft covers and the Intake Manifold, install the drive belt tensioner, and fill the cooling system once more.
