2010 Chevrolet Camaro Camshaft Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the right side camshaft on 2010 Chevrolet Camaro?
A: The right side Camshaft replacement process starts by removing the lower Intake Manifold together with the Camshaft cover sensors and intake Camshaft position actuator solenoids and the Camshaft sensors. Begin by unbolting the Crankshaft balancer while rotating the en 46111 to place the camshafts into a neutral position which enables flat surfaces of camshafts to rest parallel to the Camshaft cover rail. An open-end wrench at the Camshaft hex must be used to keep it from rotating as you loosen the Camshaft position actuator bolt. Install the en-48313 while it engages the Timing Chain then mark the position of both the Timing Chain and Camshaft position actuators for correct placement during assembly. Begin by removing the Camshaft position actuator bolt before extracting both Camshaft bearing caps and Camshaft from its position. When installing these components begin by centering the marks found on the Camshaft position actuators and Timing Chain before connecting the actuators to camshafts and placing both elements together with bearing caps. First uninstall en-48313 while placing the Crankshaft balancer and utilizing an open-end wrench to stop crank shaft rotation. Place all components including Camshaft position actuators along with intake Camshaft position actuator solenoids and Camshaft sensors and Camshaft cover and lower Intake Manifold before final tightening.
