A: The cooling system requires draining as the first step for Heater Core replacement. The Water Pump drain bolt needs to be secured tightly at 10 nm torque setting (88 lb in). Lower the vehicle so you can reposition the heater outlet hose clamp at the Heater Core using hose clamp pliers (J 38185) before removing the outlet hose. Use hose clamp pliers (J 38185) to reposition the heater inlet hose clamp at the Heater Core for removal of the heater inlet hose. Extract first the Heater Core cover before taking out the Heater Core itself. Check for damage on the lower hvac case foam Heater Core seal and repair it with kent industries adhesive black foam tape (P/N 46480) or equivalent. Your task is to insert the new Heater Core into both the hvac module along with the Heater Core cover. Insert the heater outlet hose to the Heater Core and tighten it with hose clamp pliers (J 38185). After preparing the heater inlet hose you should fill the cooling system.
