    A: The replacement process for Heater Core begins with draining the cooling system. The technician should lift and stabilize the vehicle before installing a drain pan below the Water Pump drain port and loosen the drain bolt to perform a coolant drain. You should close and tighten the Water Pump drain bolt to 10 nm (88 lb in) after the coolant drain while maintaining the vehicle at a low position. The hose clamp connecting the heater outlet to the Heater Core should be relocated by hose clamp pliers (J 38185) then the outlet hose can be removed. Use hose clamp pliers (J 38185) to move the heater inlet hose clamp before elimination of the hose. After removing the Heater Core cover you must remove the Heater Core from its current position. The foam Heater Core seal on the lower hvac case requires replacement with kent industries adhesive black foam tape (P/N 46480) or an equivalent when damaged. Please install your new Heater Core within the hvac module before putting back the Heater Core cover. By using hose clamp pliers (J 38185) you should connect and fasten the heater outlet hose to the Heater Core with a hose clamp. You should install the second hose clamp on the heater inlet hose using hose clamp pliers (J 38185). Finally, fill the cooling system.
