  • Q: How to replace the Battery Cable on the LLV/LLR (2.9L/3.7L) on 2010 Chevrolet Colorado?
    A: To remove the battery positive and negative cables for llv/llr (2.9L/3.7L), remove the negative cable first. Remove the protective cover and access the positive Battery Cable terminal, using the positive Battery Cable nut , loosen and remove the positive Battery Cable from battery. Separate the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the generator battery control module and take off the engine wiring harness clip from the upper battery box. Then disconnect the Battery Cable wiring harness electrical connector from the body wiring harness electrical connector and take out bolt that secures the negative Battery Cable ground to the battery tray. Remove the generator battery control module clip from the top battery box, press the locking tabs inward and then remove the underhood fuse block cover and remove the nuts securing the battery cables to the underhood fuse block. Disconnect the battery tray clips (1, 2) from the Battery Cable harness, remove the left wheelhouse liner and remove the starter terminal nut to disengage the positive Battery Cable terminal from the starter. Start by removing the bolt securing the negative Battery Cable ground terminal to the engine block and the Battery Cable clip from the engine wiring harness bracket and then take the battery cables out of the vehicle. For installation, put the battery cables back into the vehicle and attach the Battery Cable clip . To the engine wiring harness bracket. Fit the bolt securing the negative Battery Cable ground terminal to the engine block turning it up to 35 nm (26 lb ft). Connect the positive Battery Cable terminal to the starter the, and tighten it using the starter terminal nut . Reinstall the left wheelhouse liner (1, 2) and Battery Cable harness clips (1, 2) to the battery tray, and tighten nuts securing the battery cables to the underhood fuse block to 10 nm (89 lb in). Reattach the underhood fuse block cover making sure the locking tabs engage and install the generator battery control module clip to the upper battery box. Secure the negative Battery Cable ground to the battery tray with bolt , tightens to 9 nm (80 lb in). Wire the Battery Cable wiring harness electrical connector to the body wiring harness electrical connector, then wire the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the generator battery control module and install the engine wiring harness clip to the upper battery box. Finally, connect the positive Battery Cable to the battery, while tightening the positive Battery Cable nut to 9 nm (80 lb in), replace the protective cover and rewire the negative Battery Cable.
