2010 Chevrolet Corvette Rocker Arm Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the valve rocker arm and push rods on 2010 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: Begin the valve Rocker Arm and push rod replacement by removing the valve Rocker Arm covers and maintain order of all relevant components for redetectable installation. You should detach the valve Rocker Arm bolts after which follow with the removal of rocker arms and pivot support while also removing the pushrods. The valve rocker arms and pushrods should be cleaned before their inspection. Clean engine oil should be used for lubrication when reinstalling both valve rocker arms and pushrods as well as the bolts' flange on the valve rocker arms. Insert the valve Rocker Arm pivot support before you secure the pushrods into the valve lifter sockets and the ends of the rocker arms but defer the Rocker Arm bolt tightening step. The Crankshaft must be rotated until the number one piston reaches top dead center compression position with the sprocket key resting at 1:30 and both sprocket alignment marks pointed to 12 o'clock. The Rocker Arm bolts should be torqued to 30 nm (22 lb ft) while the engine holds the number one firing position for bolts 1, 2, 7, and 8 of the exhaust valve Rocker Arm and bolts 1, 3, 4, and 5 of the intake valve Rocker Arm. The technician must rotate the Crankshaft by 360 degrees before tightening bolts 3, 4, 5, and 6 on the exhaust valve Rocker Arm section to 30 nm (22 lb ft) while bolts 2, 6, 7, and 8 on the intake valve Rocker Arm require similar torque settings. Install the valve Rocker Arm covers as the last step.
