2010 Chevrolet Corvette Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the TPMS Sensor on 2010 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: Place the vehicle on a suitable lifting device to proceed with Tire Pressure Indicator Sensor replacement. Set the aluminum cap and nickel-plated valve on a clean surface to protect from corrosion during tire assembly removal. Always position the bead breaking fixture at a 90-degree angle from the valve stem when using a tire machine before setting the assembly on a suitable support. When removing tires allow a proper tolerance gap to exist between the tire machine fixture or irons and tire bead and sensor throughout the process. The inside surfaces of the tire should have all remaining tire sealant properly cleaned away before proceeding. Remove the tire pressure sensor nut followed by the sensor from the system. Clean the wheel valve stem hole where the sensor grommet sits before inserting the sensor with the air channel facing away from the wheel and secure the sensor nut at 7 Nm (62 lb in) to a parallel position relative to the wheel's inner surface. After reinstalling the tire onto the wheel ensure that the tire machine stays within an acceptable margin from both the tire bead and sensor. First install the tire onto the wheel before adding both tire and wheel to the vehicle then drop the vehicle to the ground. Teach yourself the correct procedure for tire pressure sensors.
