    A: The first step to replace the right parking brake rear cable involves releasing your park brake and raising your vehicle. Begin by unscrewing the park brake equalizer locknut while leaving it in place and remove the front park brake cable from the right park brake cable at its attachment points. The j-37043 (Parking Brake Cable Release Tool) should be used to release the park brake cable from the equalizer so the operator can activate the locking tabs on the cable conduit. Detach the bolts that secure the park brake cable brackets at both locations above the rear suspension module and the at the lower Trailing Arm. First separate the park brake eyelet from the actuator by using j-37043. After that you can press the locking tabs on the conduit with the tool to remove the cable from the bracket. The park brake cable needs to be positioned over the rear suspension module before fitting the eyelet to the park brake actuator. Install the compressed park brake cable spring to the cable bracket while making sure the cable conduit locking tabs fit properly. Fasten the park brake cable bracket bolt onto the lower Trailing Arm at 25 nm (18 lb ft) torques and both park brake cable bracket bolts should get tightened to the same value. The park brake cable must be positioned on the equalizer before you install and connect the front park brake cable with the right park brake cable until the park brake cable fits properly with the equalizer while ensuring locking tabs on the cable conduit fully engage. Put the park brake equalizer locknut on loosely then adjust the park brake system.
