The repair of the left side Engine Mount begins with removing Engine Mount to Engine Mount Bracket bolts that are located beneath the hood. Support the vehicle adequately while lifting it but never place the jack beneath the oil pan or sheet metal or crankshaft pulley to prevent breaking vehicle components. An adjustable jack positions onto the square tab at the engine block rear to lift the engine before the bolts are unfastened for Engine Mount removal. The procedure then continues with Engine Mount removal. Further work may require removal of the bolts securing the Engine Mount to its side bracket along with removal of the bracket itself. Begin installation by securing the Engine Mount side bracket onto the engine making sure to clear all remnants of the past adhesive and applying denatured alcohol dip and drying procedure to the bolts before applying thread-locking substance gm p/n 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489). Use threadlocker gm p/n 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489) equivalent to secure the bolts which need to be tightened to 50 nm (37 lb ft). Installation now requires the Engine Mount as well as its corresponding bolts which should be tightened to 50 nm (37 lb ft). After engine lowering the technician must install and tighten the oil pan skid plate bolts to 20 nm (15 lb ft) torque specification. To finish the process you should lower the vehicle and secure the Engine Mount to Engine Mount Bracket bolts while torquing them to 65 nm (48 lb ft).
