- Q: How to replace the Battery Cable for the Positive Junction Block on 2010 GMC Acadia?A: The first step to replace the battery positive junction block cable involves disconnecting the negative Battery Cable. Start by removing the fuel injector sight shield before opening the accessory wiring junction block cover then eliminating the junction block nut. The first step entails disconnecting both the positive Battery Cable terminal from this stud and then disconnecting the battery positive junction block cable terminal. The power steering reservoir bracket must have its battery positive junction block cable clips removed to allow relocating the cable boot in place. First disconnect the generator nut of the battery positive junction block cable before extracting its terminal from the generator stud. Proceed to uninstall the left Catalytic Converter along with the Starter heat shield bolt and shield. Turn off the battery positive junction block cable clip from the engine block before taking out the Starter solenoid bat terminal nut and the battery positive junction block cable terminal from the Starter. The first step is to lower the vehicle then proceed with removing the battery positive junction block cable. To fit the new battery positive junction block cable, place the cable into position in the vehicle and join the terminal to the stud while connecting the positive Battery Cable terminal to the junction block stud by tightening the nut to 22 nm (16 lb ft). Install the battery positive junction block cable clips to the power steering reservoir bracket before connecting the battery positive junction block cable terminal to the generator stud and tightening the nut to 22 nm (16 lb ft). Install the cable boot after lifting the vehicle and connect the Starter end of the positive junction block cable terminal to the Starter. Secure both connections using a torque of 25 nm (18 lb ft). After reinstalling the left Catalytic Converter and fuel injector sight shield the technician should install the battery positive junction block cable clip to the engine block followed by reattaching the Starter heat shield and its bolt. Reconnect the negative Battery Cable as the last step.
