  A: Start the procedure by removing the Throttle Body followed by removing the fuel injectors before proceeding to replace the Intake Manifold. The first step involves disconnecting electrical connectors between the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor and Knock Sensor and removing the Knock Sensor harness connector from the Intake Manifold. Disconnect the electronic temperature control connector and set the electrical harness aside. The installation process requires removing the MAP Sensor (714) and retainer (736) along with the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose dirty air (716) and o-ring (715) from the sensor as necessary. Begin by unclipping the end of the evap vent tube from the solenoid while squeezing the quick connect retainer on the evap pipe to unlock and detach the end of the tube from the vapor pipe. Begin by removing the Intake Manifold bolts (512) then the solenoid , isolator and bolt that forms the evap purge solenoid bolt . Finally remove the Intake Manifold (500) with gaskets. Discard the Intake Manifold gaskets (514). New Intake Manifold gaskets (514) must be installed onto the Intake Manifold (500) while applying a threadlock gm p/n 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489) to a 5 mm (0.20 in) band around the Intake Manifold bolts (512) threads. Follow the sequence when tightening Intake Manifold bolts initially to 5 nm (44 lb in) then finish with 10 nm (89 lb in). Fasten the evap purge solenoid , isolator and bolt to the Intake Manifold while tightening the evap purge solenoid bolt to 10 nm (89 lb in). Mount the evap purge solenoid vent tube onto its solenoid connection and vapor pipe and perform the Throttle Body air bleed hose connection if needed. A thin layer of clean oil is applied to the MAP Sensor grommet (715). The grommet is then installed onto the MAP Sensor (714). Next, the MAP Sensor (714) and retainer (736) are installed together. The installation process includes reinstalling the pcv hose - dirty air (716), establishing hardware connections between the Intake Manifold and Knock Sensor harness electrical connector, and reattaching the MAP Sensor and Knock Sensor and exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve if present. Complete the installation by adding fuel injectors and Throttle Body.
