2010 GMC Savana 3500 Evaporator Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the air conditioning evaporator core on 2010 GMC Savana 3500?
A: A professional must first extract refrigerant before proceeding with replacing the air conditioning Evaporator core. You need to start by taking away the coolant recovery reservoir before disconnecting low pressure sensor electrical connector, blower motor assembly electrical connector and Blower Motor resistor assembly electrical connector. Begin by taking out the retaining nut and the retaining screw attached to the Evaporator inlet tube before extracting the tube itself and then the o-ring seal. Move the retaining nut off the accumulator while you take away the accumulator from the Evaporator along with its o-ring seal. The process begins with Evaporator core extraction from the blower module assembly at which point the user can proceed to separate the blower module assembly from its components. After obtaining the required pag oil measurement for a new Evaporator core installation, directly apply it to the unit before installing both components with retaining screws. Attach the accumulator to the Evaporator using new o-ring seals while torquing the accumulator retaining nut to 18 nm (13 lb ft). The Evaporator inlet tube needs to be put onto the Evaporator before securing it through a retaining nut that reaches 16 nm (12 lb ft) tightness while using a retaining screw at the same time. Reinstall all electrical connectors for the Blower Motor resistor assembly and Blower Motor assembly together with the low pressure sensor electrical connector. Finish the procedure with reservoir installation then vacuum the a/c system before recharging it followed by testing the component fittings with the j 39400-a halogen leak detector.
