    Q:
How to replace the evaporator core in an A/C system on Chevrolet Express 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Recovery of refrigerant should be the first step before removing the Evaporator core. The repair procedure begins by detaching the low pressure sensor electrical connector and the Blower Motor assembly electrical connector as well as the Blower Motor resistor assembly electrical connector. Start by removing the retaining nut from the Evaporator inlet tube followed by the Evaporator inlet tube retaining screw before extracting both the tube along with its o-ring seal. First remove the retaining nut from the accumulator followed by removal of the accumulator together with its o-ring seal. The next step requires removing screws from the blower module assembly and the assembly itself. Take out the Evaporator core as the last step from its position in the Evaporator and blower module assembly. When replacing the Evaporator core you should introduce pag oil into the unit as specified amount. Fasten the new Evaporator before installing the engine compartment and finally fasten the retaining screws to secure the parts together. Attach the accumulator to the Evaporator previously covered by new o-ring seals while securing both components with the retaining nut which needs to reach a torque force of 18 n.m (13 lb ft). The installation of the Evaporator inlet tube begins with attaching it to the Evaporator before tightening the retaining nut to 16 n.m (12 lb ft) and securing the Evaporator inlet tube retaining screw. The technician should reconnect electrical wires to the Blower Motor resistor assembly while also connecting the electrical connectors from the Blower Motor assembly and low pressure sensor assembly. Whether installed or charged with refrigerant, progress to install the coolant recovery reservoir followed by an evacuation and recharging procedure on the a/c system. The halogen leak detector (J 39400-A) will test for leaks in the fittings of components.

    Q:
How to replace the auxiliary air conditioning evaporator on Chevrolet Express 2500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Firstly remove the auxiliary HVAC module when replacing the auxiliary air conditioning evaporator. The next step requires removing screws from the lower HVAC case before splitting the lower case in two. Collect the screws from the auxiliary HVAC module while performing the separation of its case pieces. The evaporator core along with its seal should be taken out from the auxiliary HVAC module for inspection before replacing damaged gaskets or seals. Refrigerant oil must be added to the evaporator before reinstalling it in the auxiliary HVAC module together with the evaporator core seal. Reassemble the case using appropriate torque values for both the auxiliary HVAC module screws at 2 Nm (16 lb in) while the lower HVAC case screws reach identical tightness. The last step includes module installation of the auxiliary HVAC unit followed by J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector usage to check for fittings leaks.

    Q:
How to replace the air conditioning evaporator core on GMC Savana 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
A professional must first extract refrigerant before proceeding with replacing the air conditioning Evaporator core. You need to start by taking away the coolant recovery reservoir before disconnecting low pressure sensor electrical connector, blower motor assembly electrical connector and Blower Motor resistor assembly electrical connector. Begin by taking out the retaining nut and the retaining screw attached to the Evaporator inlet tube before extracting the tube itself and then the o-ring seal. Move the retaining nut off the accumulator while you take away the accumulator from the Evaporator along with its o-ring seal. The process begins with Evaporator core extraction from the blower module assembly at which point the user can proceed to separate the blower module assembly from its components. After obtaining the required pag oil measurement for a new Evaporator core installation, directly apply it to the unit before installing both components with retaining screws. Attach the accumulator to the Evaporator using new o-ring seals while torquing the accumulator retaining nut to 18 nm (13 lb ft). The Evaporator inlet tube needs to be put onto the Evaporator before securing it through a retaining nut that reaches 16 nm (12 lb ft) tightness while using a retaining screw at the same time. Reinstall all electrical connectors for the Blower Motor resistor assembly and Blower Motor assembly together with the low pressure sensor electrical connector. Finish the procedure with reservoir installation then vacuum the a/c system before recharging it followed by testing the component fittings with the j 39400-a halogen leak detector.

    Q:
How to replace the auxiliary air conditioning evaporator on GMC Savana 2500? Posted by Customer
    A:
First process to replace the auxiliary air conditioning evaporator involves the removal of the auxiliary HVAC module. The next step requires unscrewing the lower HVAC case and then dividing the lower case halves. Next proceed to remove the screws attached to the auxiliary HVAC module before separating its case halves. Remove the evaporator core seal then extract the evaporator core from the auxiliary HVAC module so you can check gasket and seal conditions for damage before replacement tasks. First apply refrigerant oil to the evaporator then reinstall it into the auxiliary HVAC module by adding the evaporator core seal. Rejoin the case parts while fastening the screws of the auxiliary HVAC module until they reach 2 Nm of torque (16 lb in). After reconstructing the lower HVAC halves you should install the lower HVAC case screws while applying torque to 2 Nm (16 lb in). After reinstallation of the auxiliary HVAC module perform a leak test on fittings by using J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector.

    Q:
How to replace the auxiliary evaporator core on GMC Savana 3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step for replacing the auxiliary evaporator core requires recovery of refrigerant from the A/C system followed by draining coolant. Start by elevating the vehicle then remove the heater and A/C line cover that resides under the auxiliary evaporator module followed by heater lines. One retaining nut has to be removed to separate the auxiliary evaporator underbody rear tube assembly from its core position. Then secure the auxiliary evaporator module after taking out the two retaining nuts which are located beneath the vehicle. First detach the left body side rear trim panel together with both parts of the air distribution duct from the vehicle. Remove two bolts inside the vehicle while disconnecting electrical connectors that hold the case. Users must first remove the auxiliary evaporator module assembly before using tools to detach the case screws for separating the case into two halves. Inspect the gaskets together with seals on the auxiliary HVAC module after removing its evaporator core and core seal. Replace damaged elements if necessary. Place the evaporator core inside the auxiliary HVAC module before installing the evaporator core seal to complete the case reassembly. Place the auxiliary evaporator module assembly back inside the vehicle while fastening it with the two bolts located within the vehicle compartment. Begin by connecting the electrical connectors. After that install the air distribution duct upper and lower components and finally attach the left body side rear trim panel. After raising the vehicle install the two auxiliary evaporator module underneath nuts using a 10 N.m torque setting followed by applying 28 N.m torque to the retaining nut of the underbody rear tube assembly. The procedure consists of heater lines installation and heater and A/C line cover attachment followed by vehicle lowering and engine coolant addition then A/C system evacuation and recharging before performing a Halogen Leak Detector (J 39400-A) check on the components fittings.
